“Let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;” Hebrews 12:1d,2a

Who Are We?
We are a Reformed congregation committed to God, Who has declared in His Word that He sent His Son into this world not to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved (John 3:17). We were formally organized in October 1995 and belong to the Heritage Reformed Denomination.

What Do We Believe?
We hold the Bible to be the only divinely inspired, infallible, authoritative revelation of God to man, and the only foundation of our belief and practice. We believe that there is one true God who is eternal, invisible, immutable, infinite, omnipresent, almighty, perfectly wise, just, gracious, and the overflowing fountain of all good. He has revealed Himself in three distinct and co-equal Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (I John 5:7).
We believe that God created man perfect and upright, and after His own image in knowledge, righteousness, and holiness. (Genesis 1:27, Colossians. 3:10, Ephesians 4:24). We believe that man willingly subjected himself to sin and fell from his holy state. Consequently all are born in sin, will die in sin, and will be condemned to eternal hell unless regenerated by the Spirit of God to find complete salvation in the one Mediator, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:12, Colossians 2:13).

We believe in the one and only Mediator between God and man, the Lord Jesus Christ, who in one Person is both God and man: given by God the Father, that whosoever believes in him might not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16, Acts 4:12). We believe that God does freely offer his Son to the whole world; that whosoever will may find refuge in him (Isaiah 55:1, Revelations 22:17).

We believe that the Word of God provides clear instruction not only for the way of salvation, but also for man’s everyday life in the world. We believe that all spheres and domains of life must be subject to the will of God declared in His Word (I Corinthians 10:81).

We believe that although infant baptism places us under the privileges of an external, non-saving covenant relationship with God, we need the personal regenerating work of the Holy Spirit to bring us into the covenant of grace in an internal, saving relationship with God (Romans 2:28-29, John 3:8).

These doctrines are more thoroughly explained in our doctrinal standards: The Heidelberg Catechism, The Belgic Confession of Faith, and The Canons of Dort. We also agree with the Westminster Confession of Faith.

When Do We Worship?
We worship twice every Sunday, at 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 pm. Special worship services and prayer services are also held periodically, including services on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter, Ascension Day, and Pentecost. In addition, worship services are scheduled on the National Day of Prayer and on Reformation Day, October 31. A schedule of services is included in the monthly newsletter.

How Do We Worship?
God is holy; therefore we worship Him reverently. You will find that a quiet, formal atmosphere prevails throughout the worship service. Our worship services last approximately 90 minutes and includes singing psalms, prayer, and reading Scripture. The worship service centers around the preaching of the Word of God, based either on a portion of Scripture or on a Scriptural doctrine as outlined in the Heidelberg Catechism. During the worship services we use the King James Version of the Bible since we believe that this is the most accurate translation in the English language. We desire to keep the Lord’s Day holy in accordance with the Ten Commandments and Isaiah 58:13,14. Our women wear head coverings in our worship services in obedience to the command of God for worship that the women have their head covered, I Corinthians 11:1-16.
Refreshments are served following the afternoon service. A family is always ready for lunch or dinner guests. A nursery is provided during the worship services for infants and toddlers.

In conjunction with the Jordan HRC, there is a radio broadcast that airs every Lord’s Day 11:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at JOY radio 1250 AM from Toronto.

Where Do We Worship?
We currently rent the facilities of Holland Marsh Christian School, located at 18955 Dufferin Street, Newmarket, Ontario (park in the library lot north of the school.). Denominational Ministries
We help support our denominational radio ministry, called the Gospel Trumpet. This ministry is broadcast on various commercial and short-wave radio stations.
We have a denominational periodical called the Banner of Sovereign Grace Truth which includes articles by both present day and previous era writers. It has a number of interesting sections, including a children’s section, a question and answer section, and current events. We also support The Inheritance Publishers, a denominational organization which distributes printed sermons from godly forefathers on a bi-monthly basis. Subscriptions for these materials may be obtained by contacting one of our deacons.

We have a denominational seminary to train ministers of the Word. The Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and is under the direction of Dr. J. R. Beeke.

Denominational youth meetings and men’s and women’s conferences take place annually.

Please visit the web site of our sister church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This site contains much useful material, including sermons, a bookstore with on-line ordering, a teen’s corner, family issues, current events, links to other sound Reformed literature and information, and more. The web address is http://www.hnrc.org.
